JML on the Non-Human Mind

The Jews that died at Auschwitz and Buchenwald, burned in the ovens with tattooed numbers on their arms. Human beings were transformed into meaningless objects by the Nazi apparatus of the third Reich. How did this most heinous slaughter occur? Germany at the time of Hitler was perhaps the most civilized society on the planet. The Great German expressionists like Kirchner were in their prime, and there was a lively, tolerant urban scene that celebrated the spirit of Bohemia and was tolerant of all the social outcasts the Nazis would later slaughter in droves. In the country, young people glorified in nature and their naked bodies. Out of this seemingly glorious culture, emerged the most wicked and insane eye-shutting that the world has ever known. The great words of Friedrich Nietsche were twisted into dogmatic literalism that led to an external assault on the external diversity. All those that were different must be destroyed. So goes the Hitlerian mind, the mind of the machine, the inhuman mind.

This is also at risk of offending the powers that be, the mind of the corporation, an ignorant entity that seeks to destroy all that is not it. I return to the old question. How did such evil emerge from such peace and diversity. How did war and killing come out of tolerance and collective kindness. This incomprehensible puzzle, is to me, an arrow towards God, Christ, Spirit, Nirvana, peace, holiness, the sacred, freedom, whatever word you prefer. I believe that this puzzle is something that cannot be intellectually solved. It can only be felt. To truly be, all of us must learn to think with our bodies and feel with our minds this interconnectedness is what allows God to flow into us. Take the lesson given to us by Shakespeare, in the play King Lear.
